Muniesa called up again, Abidal on the right track

The squad put the finishing touches on their preparations for Sunday night’s game against Valencia when they trained at the Ciutat Esportiva yesterday morning. There was a positive atmosphere amongst the players and plenty of smiles on show.

With the big game against Valencia set for a 19.00 CET kick off on Sunday, the squad came in for Saturday training at 11.00 this morning and were put through their paces by Pep Guardiola.

Great atmosphere

It was a nice sunny morning in Barcelona today – a contrast to the chilly weather suffered all week - and the players were in a good mood as they went through a variety of exercises, including a game where they had to keep the ball up with their head and feet that produced plenty of laughter and good humour amongst the squad.

21 players

As with the session on Friday, Guardiola called up 21 players for the session, with Seydou Keita taking a full part and reserve defender Marc Muniesa again joining the first team players, as he has done all week. Abidal continued with his recovery programme in the gym.

Sunday morning session

The squad will be back in training tomorrow at 11.30 behind closed doors at the Nou Camp.

We need abidal back and fast, maxwell has been doing an okay job, but he's nowhere near abidal's level.
