Mourinho: Inter Are Better Without Zlatan

Jose Mourinho, the manager of Inter Milan, said in an interview with the Inter  Milan’s official website, that his team is better without Zlatan Ibrahimovic. “The reality is that the side plays better [without Ibrahimovic], the team is now playing better football than it was last year,” he said.

“It is normal that a team asks questions and has doubts, and that’s what happened when Inter decided to sell Ibrahimovic,” he said. “Look at what we did after his departure. What the club did, the way in which the institution has managed the sale of Ibra economically and taken out what it wanted to spend on new players.”

Zlatan left Inter Milan last year in a swap deal including former FC Barcelona player Samuel Eto’o plus cash. Inter are now topping Serie A, qualified for the second round in the Champions League  and are  playing in the semi-final of the Coppa Italia against Fiorentina.

I hate to say it but Inter made the most of Zlatan's sale. I am not denying the fact that Zlatan
is a great player, but eto + 40m .. that is a bad deal without a doubt. Now in the absence of
Zlatan, Inter are playing like a team… and they have struck gold with snijders deal. On this
I can say that we (barca) lost less compared to Real Madrid.

  2. You are not seeing the whole picture here. Inter spent more than they got from Barca. They bought 7-8 new players including Sneider, Lucio, Pandev(free), Millito, Motta etc Take Sneider out of the team and they will struggle again. Still we don't know if they are better, Seria A is getting worse every year, Juve is not a factor, Milan same. they disappointed in CL so far, and only if they pass Chelskea, I will say they are better. Go Pandev

PAndev to me makes inter a whole lot better, he reminds me soo much of deco, i think inter are better without zlatan, they have eto'o and milito up front.

    • Nigel says:

Eto'o has been a shadow of himself at Inter. If anything it has been Milito scoring all the goals. FACT!

      • BArca fan says:

eto'o will play his part dont worry, who scored the winning goal against rubin in the MUST WIN MATCH. eto'o is a big game player, FACT!

        • Nigel says:

Considering how much he's getting paid versus his goals and contributions, versus what Milito is doing, it's clearly evident Milito is the main man, at least based on how things are going!

Milito scored against Milan, their biggest rivals, and now sit on top!

Milito has more goals and assists than Eto'o, and Eto'o gets paid three times as much! FACT!

If Eto'o continues playing in the shadow of Milito, he'll go down as the biggest flop in world football history!

          • BArca fan says:

Eto'o has scored a decent amount of goals, he just moved to a new league and new team, im sure u dont see zlatan leading the charts in spain.

          • Nigel says:

Wow! Your last post says alot about you. We were talking about Inter, hence Eto'o and Milito. You bring out our player Ibra, the same player you always hate on and try to bring him down again..? You truly are an a**hole! Firstly, for not sticking up to your team/players. Since you brought up Ibra, why can't you be as respectful and patient with Ibra as you are with Eto'o, who doesn't play for us anymore..? Oh, and Ibra is top 3 in both goals scored and assists! Eto'o isnt! FACT!

Your Eto'o fanboy, and it's best you support Inter and their boring brand of football! You might think your a Barcafan, but you are from it!

Now that you brought up Ibra, let's see if your a man.. Who's performed better, has been more impressive, scored more goals and more assists, between Ibra and Eto'o this season…?

Just outta curiosity, where are you from?

I'll be waiting for your reply, but like always, you'll probably crawl back into your sad little hole…

There is nothing wrong with mentioning that player from the team you support is not playing that amazing. And he didn't that he was an Eto'o fan boy or that Zlatan wasn't a great player, he said they need time to adapt to the new league.

oh boy do i love you for your comment, i thought exactly the same as you. and the guy DID crawl back to his hole lol!

  4. It's a thankless job being an editor, but I'm glad to have my my first real impact here!

  5. Jj O Grady says:

Only time will tell if we've done a good deal on Zlatan. He's going to have to do better than Eto'o now that we actually spent around 60 million euro on him .

  6. Not necessarily. Prices were inflated. Still, of course, he is expected to perform.

  7. OmarCule says:

I'm surprised and dumbfounded to see parts of the interview excluded, especially when it's just one sentence? This is what Mourinho said in full:

"The team that loses one of the best players in the world is obviously a team that generates lots of question marks. This is what happened when we sold Ibrahimovic. But we know what we have done since. Everyone can see what us coaches and those at the club have done. And what the players have done. We haven't won anything yet, but the reality is that the team is playing better football now than last year, and it's not a coincidence."

Inter is not playing better because Ibra left. They are better because they bought Etoo, Milito, Pandev, Sneijder, Motta and Lucio. if only Inter had kept Ibra somehow, they would have been a dream team right after Barca..

  8. FCB_fR3aK says:

And, Barca are better off without you Mourinho !!! Hahahahaha (referring to him almost signing on as coach before Pep's appointment.) hahahaha

    • HieiFCB says:

      Great counter lol!

Inter bought last years best Serie A Striker(Milito) and one of the best midfielder last season in Serie A (Thiago Motta).
And also Sneijder who contributes alot to Inter.

  9. Ha, thanks odn. I was mostly just kidding. I don't mind no one knowing…they can blame any mistakes on the original author.

  10. karthik says:

Whether Inter Milan looks better without Zlatan remains to be seen. It is shameful from Inter's part to say they are better without Zlatan, just like few here speak high about Zlatan, disrespecting Samu who gave his all for our club. !

  11. DontPanic says:

I don't care if Inter are better with or without Ibra. But I do care that Barca is better than Inter. We proved it not long ago.

  12. Gray says:

Inter will still fail in Europe, some people just waste their time discussing worthless issues, What did you all expect mou to say? The fact remains that ibra plays in a better club now.

  13. ibrACMessi says:

Shame on you Inter! Well Ibra needed time top adapt and he has done well. I think for now Zlatan has lived up to his price tag..
