Marseille’s Benoit Cheyrou dreams of Barça
Olympic marseille’s French midfielder Benoit Cherou (28), spoke at the program ‘France Football’, on L’Equipe, expressed his dream to one day play for FC Barcelona and also his love for Spanish football.
“Spanish football attracts me, it suits my game. Also I love FC Barcelona and it is a reference to me”, said Cheyrou.
The younger brother of former Liverpool player and now Anorthosis player Bruno Cheyrou (31), does not fancy his chances of fulfilling his dream, although he doesn’t like making plans for the future, “Everything is possible in football and sometimes things you would not have imagined, might happen”.
When talking about Barca, Benoit praises the whole squad, although he reserved special praise for two players in particular. “When I talk about players in my position, which is the midfield, I have great admiration for two players, Xavi and Iniesta”, says the footballer from Suresnes.
Cheyrou extended his contract with Marseille for two more years last summer, and is now bound to the club until the June of 2013. However, Benoit doesn’t mind it, “you never know what happens in the future and who knows? Barca may like me one day”, said the Marseille number seven.

Not gonna happen, especially @ (28) … but its a good dream. Don't sweat it, I know that your not the only player who dreams of Barca.
You can dream but this dream is almost impossible
I think he has been contacted and we've declared our interest in him. He is a candidate to fill a spot in midfield if the club acts as i suspect they will in the transfer market. He would not be a starter but he is very good at passing and defending and could do well as a backup DM. He is worth slightly more than Veloso surprisingly, and was Marseille's mvp of last season. I've never seen him play but apparently he fits the bill. He wouldn't just come out and say this if no contact had been made… that would be pathetic.
