Marc Valiente: “You cannot compare Ronaldo’s incident with Messi’s”
The desperate attempt of Madrid’s journalists and the dubious means of Madrid rummaging through the file to try and compare the aggression of Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo (24) on Malaga’s Mtiliga who broke his nose in the incident to Leo Messi’s (22) actions on Marc Valiente (22) that went unpunished lost all its weight after learning the version of Valiente the ‘victim’ of the Argentines actions.
“They are not comparable”
Sevilla’s Marc Valiente, told the program ‘The Tier’ Ona FM, and made his views clear on the incident, “When that play happened it wasn’t given much importance but now it appears that it does, anyhow I don’t think those two moves are comparable”.
“Leo did not harm”
Valiente, who played alongside Messi in his his youth days at Barca said: “Our play was a scuffle between the two of us. I grabbed him (Messi) with my two arms unlike Mtiliga (who grabbed Ronaldo with his one arm) and Messi lets go off my arm, but he always pushed me on the chest and never on the face”.
The 22 year old also recalled, “I have a good relationship with Messi, we played together in Barca’s youth system and at the end of that game he said he was sorry, but I knew Leo never intended do any harm”.

Are these guys insane? The two events are totally incomparable, its not even worth discussing.
I think we still have a buy back option on Marc Valiente, is he playing good & much?
We also have a buy back for Marc Crosas
has Marc Valiente signed for Sevilla permanently?
Or do we have a buyback clause?
no its a permanent deal. del nido signed him for free
That would be something worth investigating.
I think the time has passed for both Crosas and Valiente's buy back options but i'm not sure
Marc Crosas' loan deal ends at the end of the season. No idea about Valiente
No its not a loan, we sold him for 500k, and we have a buy back option for 1.5 million or something like that
Booyah, Madrid!
Bravo, Valiente! I was soooo mad at AS — and then at RM when I heard they actually tried to use this incident to their favor — when I saw this. Marca just had video and eventually removed it. So I give them some credit for being decent. AS actually had a video, photos and an article! When the comments seemed to support what Valiente himself said, AS had the nerve to remove the article but leave the photos and video — with no way to comment.
The differences are obvious. Valiente had Messi in a two-arm embrace! Which, btw, meant that Leo didn't have room to do anything more than PUSH at him.
Duh! Maybe Messi should have stopped running and let the two of them fall into a heap on the ground to prove that Valiente was trying a rugby tackle on him, but Messi is a fighter and of course wanted to keep running. Also, of course, these incidents are very different because Valiente wasn't injured and sidelined for 3 weeks.
So, yes! Bravo to you, Valiente. You are indeed "valiente."
I have watched the Ronaldo foul quite a few times and really think that he takes a quick look behind him to make sure he lands a hit. A two match ban is reasonable.
I was about to say exactly the same. Yes, he indeed takes a look behind before letting his arm go. I watched several times the video…and I don't know (or I wouldn't dare to say) if the hit was on purpose or not but he takes a look back, that's a fact.
I said this a few days ago on another forum, it definitely looks like he is taking a look to make sure he gets him.

this only proves (once again) how patetic RM are!!
The Madrid press are just SAD. Valiente grabbed Messias his shirt and maybe Mtiliga wanted to grab Cristiano his uhh..shirt he didn't even have a chance
And the way Cristiano hit Mtiliga was just harsh compared to Messi's. El Messias even said sorry…wonder if CR9 did that
I'm impressed. Marca has an interview with Xavi as its lead article on the website right now, where Xavi calls the 2-game suspension "very just," and defends Leo Messi.
