Marc Bartra offered to Real Madrid
Spanish news site, ‘Diario El Confidential’, claims that La Masia youngster and FC Barcelona Atlètic central defender, Marc Bartra, has in recent days been offered to Real Madrid. Advisers of the youngster, who turns 19 on January 15, and whose contract expires on June 30, 2011, are reportedly concerned over the club’s future plans for the player and have now taken measures to secure his professional future.
The supposed offer is believed to have been made to Ramon Martinez, director of Real Madrid’s youth system and former member of the Barcelona technical team, who, apart from confirming that a proposal has in fact been made, merely stated that Madrid liked the offer and are awaiting further news. The source further speculates that the possible exit of several other youngsters including Thiago Alcantara, Jonathan Dos Santos, Gai Yigal Assulin and Jeffren could result from these developments.
There is reportedly growing unrest in La Masia, which would have been caused by the Barcelona management’s inability to secure renewals and/or hammer out commitments from the affected players. The supposed uncertainties are believed to be further aggravated by the fact that Barcelona manager, Pep Guardiola, still has not indicated his intention to remain with the Catalan club beyond the current season. Many believe that should Guardiola renew, Barcelona’s reserve players would simply follow the decision of their head coach.

Let Bartra and Jeffren go. Thiago and JdS know they are on the verge of the first team so they wont be going anywhere. Gai can maybe stay or go. Not too sure if he is happy with his playing time.

That source just published one truck load of bullshit, I mean which youngster in the right sense of mind would leave Barca's academy and go to Real madrid's academy stating the reason that he might not get into the first team of Barca?? I mean if he couldn't get a chance in Barca's first team where youngsters are given so many opportunities how could he even dream of getting an opportunity in Real Madrid where youngsters never even get a look in??

sachin, i dont think the reports mean that they would be willing to go to madrid's academy. as far as bartra is concerned the offer appears to be true but for the others its simply speculation at this point. we must however concede that at their age these kids are all raring for first team action, if they know whats good for them they would stay, but some would have the patience, some would not.. happens all the time.
this just can NOT be true.. 3 of the players mentioned here (thiago, gai, JDS) are the BEST prospects the club have and are the future of the club.. how stupid will they have to be to not keep these players. its in the best intress of the club and the players.. hopefully theres no need to worry..

isn't bartra like one of our best defenders why would we let him go to real madrid. i would probably believe this more if arsenal was the club offered too.
me personally, i'm a little concerned cos all these players have contracts expiring in the summer (2010), exc for Bartra who is under contract till next yr i think, so after they can leave if they feel they like it. plus, they're still kids, their parents have a lot of say on these things, and others prolly have agents that advise them and we defo cannot expect these ppl to be moved by sentiments like love for the club etc etc. i think txiki et al should still do their jobs and work on the renewals as soon as possible. jeffren for example is said to have been offered an extension but that's with barca b! maybe its why he hasnt signed yet.

I would rather give away those players for FREE to any club in the world.. arsenal, juve, milan, man utd, etc… than take money for them and give them to Madrid!

I think we buy 2 much defenders…we have great defenders in our youth teams like: Muniesa, Fontas or Bartra, but we still buy players like Chychrinsky & Henrique…we better sell the last 2, and promote the youngsters

It all comes down to Pep's renewel. How important is it? Cesc's arrival, Massia's players future, and probably other things depend on Pep's renewel. I think Abidal once said that if Pep leaves he will follow but I'm not entirely sure, I think I did read something like that here in totalbarca.

The youngsters do have a good point though, they know that there is nobody like Guardiola who will give the youngsters time and patience to enroll them in the team. I mean look right now, he went against odds and instead of buying players for just this month(like other clubs do) he decided to use youngsters.
The youngsters have to start taking chances for their future. They know they won't find another coach like Guardiola. If he leaves then all the hard work the youngsters did to impress him will go with him. So it's like starting all over again with a new coach(only if it is not Luis Enrique that takes the roll). So if it is to start from scratch then it is their opportunity to start from scratch at another club(a new adventure). They want some first team action. I believe, if they go, they will go to a team that they know will give them a chance, you know ala Guardiola or Wenger.
The only thing I don't believe from this is that it would be to Real Madrid. If a youngster wishes to go to Madrid then maybe he just isn't Barca material.
This could also be a tactic to pressure Guardiola into renewing, but this would be a big waste since Guardiola does NOT seem like a pushover.
All of our canteranos going to madrid is str8 up B.S…but to be honest i wouldnt mind if jeffren and jds go to other clubs…And its true the top canteranos have faith in guardiola and also the first team players all want him to stay…I also do since hes the perfect coach for barcelona and has faith in the canteranos…And the only player the is coming to barcelona in the summer is fabregas because hes the main target for all the elective presidents…and guardiola knows him seen he was a child…plus henry is out next season iniesta going to lw. this is how i see thing next year..

I think it´s extremely worrying that our best youth products right now are free to talk to other clubs, that our loved Pep hasn´t renewd (and rumors previously said that he was willing to give two years as head coach and them stop ion order to be with his own family instead), and also that alot of players from Eto'os youth camp could be lost in the summer.
Txiki and Laporta needs to do something about this NOW or we risk having a total disaster in the summer.
