Luis Fabiano dreams of playing for Barcelona

Luis Fabiano dreams of playing for Barcelona

According to Catalan sports paper Sport, Brazilian forward Luis Fabiano (29) thinks that his time in Sevilla is over. Sevilla is reportedly ready to sell Fabiano this summer, since his contract is expiring in 2011. However, the Brazilian international is very clear about where he would want to continue his footballing career. “If I could get to choose, I would say Barcelona. Their way of playing fascinates me.”

However, it seems unlikely that Fabiano’s dream of playing for Barcelona will come true, because several other forwards, like Valencia’s David Villa or Liverpool’s Fernando Torres, have been the main targets of speculation for the Catalan club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

  2. Zlavi says:

If the staff at the club consider themselves responsible and think about the future of the club(financially)… they would sign Fabiano and keep Ibra because Fabiano is just 1 year older than Villa, but would be at least 20million cheaper, proven striker in the Liga and he proved with Brazil NT that he could be as lethal as any other top 5 striker in the world if he had good supply from the mid field!! 25 goals from 36 matches!? That's insane I'd say!!

If I were in charge I'd look no further than Fabiano!!

    • CulestCule says:

but I would sell off Zlatan, play Fabiano as the main striker and keep Bojan as a backup.

  3. rahul says:

forlan and fabiano both would have been a better buy. but considering forlan's price of 36m is too high. both of them would have been really useful against team who defend with 10 men. as fabiano has teh nack of getting in causing trouble which non of players do in such a situation, he has teh physical presence as well as deadly finishing.
forlan makes some wonderful runs, can dribble really good, is clinical finisher. moreover he can score with either foot with equal ease and can score excellent long range goals which would have helped us "breaking teh bus". messi can score from long range too but he gets marked out, forlan on teh other wouldn't have had that problem.

  4. efk. says:

Villa owns him in every way.

  5. DM1982 says:

    Dream on Fabiano, dream on.

  6. debe says:

Fabiano as a backup striker could be a great option.

  7. Mido_cule says:

I like you Fabiano but I have 3 better choice
    1-Keeping Zlatan
    2-if not:signing Villa
    3-If not:signing Torres

  8. mike in africa says:

to me, this guy is better than the media-hyped torres. he'd be much cheaper too. this would a really smart signing i would say. it's a shame that he's brazilian, imagine if he was english, he'd be the biggest thing.

  9. warcelona says:

On a diffrent note i cant wait for this match tonight and i really want messi to get a hat trick

  10. AceGhatge says:

Fabiano is being praised for his talent, I like his attitude.
Every interview he gives. He's sitting laid back, bling on, confident.
and always says "I don't care what others think but see I'm a striker, I score goals.. what more can I do?" :D
    He is one bad mofo.

  11. Maxmaxmaz says:

Iam not sure but he seems like he wouldnt mind being benched in barcelona. If thats the case and he is cheap why not. I could be absolutely wrong though lol

  12. Anonymous_69 says:

Villa is better, but this guy is close, and MUCH cheaper. Something to consider anyways. His attitude isn't the best, but he already plays with an Ibra-like player in Kanoute, so I don't think he would have too many problems adapting. Villa is better though, and he would adapt a lot faster, PLUS he is more versatile, has a good attitude, works hard, and already knows some of our players.

If Villa is over 40m and Fabiano is 20m it would be something to consider.

  13. Luis Amado says:

Fabiano, for sure a great striker, and, I would propose:
1 – Buy a great left winger – Frank Ribery
2 – Buy a striker thant feets in barcelona style of play – Fabiano or Villa
3 – Buy a left defender – Clichy (Arsenal) – Perfect for barcelona

  14. frank says:

man this guy is such a great player. I dont watch sevilla, but I sure as hell wont miss any games played by brazil. I have seen this guy do crazy things with robinho and kaka. He will definitely fit the system and play his heart out. But that being said He will probably end up going to milan and play along side ronaldinho and pato.

  15. zinaldo says:

From what i have read in the french newspapers barca have made a 30m euros offer for eden hazard but lille would like to keep for 1 more year and then let him go so you would have to agree to leave him on loan.

But barca have said for them to do that lille would have to lower their asking price and they are said to have lowered their stance to around 25m euros, also hazard is said to be now ok with moving if you want to improve but lyon are also said to be on the case and arsene wenger actually gave him a phone call asking him to join arsenal.

Hazard is a great young player a bit like pedro but maybe less of a goal threat but maybe more skilled and able to play those killing through balls and he is versatile as well.

But if i was a betting man i would expect him to either go to lyon or marseille if he stays in france but to join a team like arsenal because of their good history with young players.

    • Scrappy1 says:

I doubt hazard will want to go to another french club seeing as thou he isnt even french. He'll be at a bigger club before the next 2 years.

  16. zinaldo says:

The thing is that lyon have the money to make themselves a really european force as they already have cissokho top 5 left back, lisandro top 20 striker, they plan on buying gourcuff, sissoko of toulouse and bruno alves and if they can add hazard then they would have a very good team to compete and cause a lot of troubles to any team in europe.

Of course the fact that they have reached the semi finals of the champions league this year is another bonus so they can only kick on from there.

  17. Barcaholic says:

I'M really fed up about those totally stupid ideas. HE IS 29!!!.

We really have to avoid 3 things:
    1. Buying old players for a lot of money
    2. Buy perspective players for a ridicoulus sum of money (chygrinsky, Keirrison…)
    3. Talk about buying a left defender and winger: Maxwell and Pedro have been awesome!!!

Instead we have to do 1 thing:
Sell Ibra (from the first day on he was a mistake) and buy Fabregas (we definitely need depth in midfield) and Torres/Villa and David Silva. Then we needn't do ANY transfers in the coming years…

    • megano28 says:

spoken like an ignorant Fifa 10 player. first of all:
      1. "Old" players don't impede on the development of the youth, allowing us to actually raise/utilize them instead of selling them when they realize they won't get first team action.
      2. 100% agree on this part
      3. maxwell and pedro have been great this season, yet we need a better lw which can provide more of an attacking threat from the left flank. with regard to the lb slot, maxwell is a good sub yet, he has more of an attacking mentality. With dani alves on the field at the same time we'd have two of our defenses up in attack…we aren't real madrid you know…
Selling Ibra right now would not be fair as he has not fully adapted to our style of play. We can buy fabregas without selling ibra. Villa is coming already(might as well be at least) and if we bought silva, where do you think he would play? That's right the LW role, which contradicts your 3rd statement.

      • barcayute says:

we need a lw and mf who is very good at freekicks we waise to many free kicks to me or lw who is craeative ok we are takin franco club for a joke

  18. pedritoo says:

plz no fabiano or torres just get cesc and villa is perfect and dont sell ibra

    villa ibra messi
    iniest cesc xavi
    abidal pique puyol alvez
    valdez
    dream team xD

    • Fadinho says:

      what about toure???
I really dont think that fabregas is that much better than toure.

      • Barca4Life says:

I agree, Fabregas is still young and can wait another year, i see him as the next Xavi but not yet..
the only problem is if Yaya wants to leave, then I see no better replacement then Fabregs!
