Keita back to full fitness

Keita back to full fitness

Seydou Keita returned to full training on Friday after being given the green light by the Barça medical staff to begin working with the rest of the squad.

Coach Pep Guardiola had 20 players for the session and the Mali international midfielder was able to slot straight back in, having battled back from a knock that has seen him miss the last few matches. Keita trained on the sidelines earlier this week but is now in contention to return to action this weekend, despite having not played since February 14.

Cold front

A warm-up was required on a chilly morning in the Catalan capital, with the thermometer reading just three degrees centigrade. Ball work was the order of the day as the players stretched their legs and began to focus on the visit of Valencia on Sunday.

Muniesa and Abidal

Marc Muniesa was again present after being promoted from the youth ranks earlier this week, while Éric Abidal was the only first-team member not involved as he continued on the comeback trail on the side of the pitch.

Training days

Barça will train on Saturday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan gamper at 11am and then work on Sunday morning behind closed doors in Camp Nou.

I'm so happy that Keita is back! Busquets has been used in the box to box recently and he was okay but Keita is the king of that role.

Good news. Now it's Abidal's tern to make quick recovery.
