Keirrison wants to succeed at Barcelona

Speaking in an interview with Globo Esporte, Barcelona loan-out striker Keirrison (21) has declared his desire to return to Barcelona and succeed. Since being signed from Palmeiras in 2009, Keirrison has been loaned out to Benfica, Fiorentina and Santos, but has not given up hope about a return to the Catalan club.

The Brazilian striker commented: “My desire is to return Barcelona someday, back to Europe, and succeed there. I’ve always wanted to succeed in Europe, but I know I must have patience. There is no need to rush, I’m still young.”

Keirrison was expected to get used to the European style of football during his time in Benfica and Fiorentina, but things did not work out quite as planned. The Brazilian youngster never got a real chance to shine during his loan spell in Europe, appearing only in five games for Benfica and ten games for Fiorentina. Keirrison commented about his time in Fiorentina:

“At Fiorentina, I played a little more than at Benfica and scored two goals, one on my debut. Cesare Prandelli, the Italian coach now, trusted me, but it was difficult for me to play because of Alberto Gilardino.”
