Ibrahimovic Returns to National Team
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has today announced at a press conference held in Malmö, Sweden, that he will return to the Swedish national team.
The Barcelona player stated, “I have missed the national team, missed playing in front of the Swedish people and wearing the national team shirt.”
It was after Sweden had failed to qualify for the World Cup that Ibrahimovic decided to leave the national team, stating that he didn’t feel motivated enough as the reason behind his decision.
The Swedish coach Erik Harmén was very happy when he got the news of Zlatan’s return: “It feels like Christmas Eve!”
Harmén has also already decided to give the captain armband to Zlatan.
When asked about his future in Barcelona, Ibrahimovic said that it “looked very positive, I have four years left and I was a Barca player the day I left for vacation and I am a Barca player today as well.”
About the rumors that have linked him to several clubs in Europe, Zlatan said,
“All this talk has only been people that have used my name, but it’s just to say congrats to them because I have been able to be in Chelsea, Manchester City, Milan, etc… without even being there… so that’s fun.”

why i cant post no comments…:(…

?
ZLATANNNNNNNNNNN IS THE BEST.. AND FUCKKKK WHO EVER DONT LET ME POST COMMENTS!!!..
I guess spain winning the world cup was an eye opener and motivation for him
What dedication.
Good stuff ibra! This is very good to stay competitive
I like this news.
Fabregas has nothing to do with ibra
I love the part where the Captaincy has already been handed to Ibra…it makes me feel soo happy to hear that Barca has prob the most captains on their side: Xavi, Puyol, Messi, Villa for Valencia and now Ibra….we have alot of leaders, but not too many egos….Viva Espana, Viva Ibrahimovic y Viva Barca……lets all give Ibra another 'shot' at this……he deserves our support, after all a Barca squad member is one of our stars out on the field…show some love for him guyz….even the critics, let him prove you wrong on the pitch next season
It's pretty obvious why he's doing it: he is number 5 in the picking order at the moment (1 Messi 2 Villa 3 Pedro 4 Bojan) and if he stays he will probably be warming the bench alot. But good performances for the national team can quickly put him off the bench and on the pitch and ibra knows it.
when you fall out of favor with pep, it's difficult to get it back. yaya did it once, earning his position back in the treble-winning year. everyone else has failed including yaya himself this past season. he'd need to perform better than the rest forwards to secure a spot as pep only sees a player through his la-masia-catalan glasses.
dude then expalin why keita is among peps fav player…. its obvious our la masia has so many talented players who have been taught the basics of our tik taka play to the very depth so they easily get adjusted to first team and can compete with our best and they r proving that on field it just not busquet who made yaya to sit on bench but pedro did the same to henry…like how messi did to guilly….. xavi did to pep….so its act good and a possitive sign for future just forget yaya and stop hating pep for selecting la masia players
lol but who oriol will do. and will it be biscuits lol. muniesa may do puyol ,barta may do marques fontas, milito dalmaua and montoya maybe alves and adriano lol
Yes it quite possibly will. Gerard may do Pedro
who may do messi, who may do just as eto rochina,or etock who will do xavi and iniesta roberto, tiago, jds, rafa pique campabadal
I knew he would do this .. he's such a hypocrite!
I wonder how "motivated" he will be if things start going badly for Sweden?
He'll still be the first to jump ship.
A pure class leader huh ?
Has he done it before? And the answer is NO, so it begs the question, how did you know 'I knew he would do this..' ?
Are you a psychic?
Yep.That's exactly what I am. Wait, how did you KNOW that?
The thing with Zlatan is – he puts his needs first…so it was really just a matter of time. So yeah, guess what… I knew!
Gotta love that grin.
There were TWO main reason why he left, first of all as you guys write in this news post, he lost all the motivation because Sweden did not make it to the world cup because he is a winner. He hates to loose. He repeated it several times during the press conference that he wants to WIN. And that you don't play in the national team "for fun" you play to win.
Second reason was like he said, he had his head full of Barcelona and he wanted to give it all and put full concentration in Barca. He would even sacrifice his national team spot for Barca.
Very good post Janko!
This is utter and complete BS!
Gotta love a CAPTAIN that leaves as soon as he realizes they are not winning nor are they getting anywhere. That's really the leader type we would wanna portray to our younger players. Guys, you have to be motivated and want to WIN! But if you don't ,please don't take any responsibility for it nor stay through the rough patches with your team. Just JUMP ship ..and when you feel bored 9 months later and haven't gotten any playing time really and the qualifications for Euro are starting .. well feel free to come back. And since you are the star ..we'll make you the captain (again) immediately .. because you SURE have earned it.
Oh yeah ..these kids will learn a lot from him. Because from now on ..it's gonna be all about him. and him only. He came back and he "saved" them. Zlatan – the hero.
Pardon me while I HURL!!!!!
Thanks for keeping it real! "The Adulation", at times here, is mind boggling. Do real men quit on their teams? Henrik Larson( A Blaugrana ) came out of retirement to try and help his country in the Euros in 2008. He to me is the real man and a National Hero in Sweden? deserving of the MBE that's been bestowed upon him. A real winner, that's a joke! No player worth his salt, likes to lose but just because they do…..They don't quit playing for their Country ! In the Military, it's called Desertion !!
Now, you could look at it this way — Ibra "quit" because Sweden were not playing any meaningful games. Barca were. He chose to concentrate on his club commitment above playing in pointless friendly matches. Now, with Euro 2012 qualifiers starting, the games do have meaning. Maybe he should not have said "retiring" previously but just said that he was committing to his club — for now.
I prefer to look at his intentions here. And I also prefer to go with Pep's judgement. If Ibra stays, then Pep thinks he can be useful to the team. The choice is now up to Ibra — fight for your place and show people your winning spirit. If he cannot succeed this season, then I will be willing to admit that his time with Barca was a failure.
But not yet. Look, again, at how he did in the early part of the season last year. Things are not just black and white, and we are not there, inside the club, to know how things really are.
In Pep we trust!
BarcaFanDallas While I understand where you are coming from, Please try to understand my point of view in context of " Sweden" and not Pep and Barca .I was specifically talking about his behavior towards the Swedish National team. I am most certainly not questioning Pep's judgment or calling Ibra a failure yet either, so let's be clear about that, please!
Yes, I apologize. I see your point and now understand that you are from Sweden. So this means much more to you.
I live here. So I'm so freaking sick of the media hype. Of the super star Zlatan and whatnot! Of kissing his ass.
The team were just adjusting to being without him and building on their performance. And we have very good young players. They make me proud. And they've worked hard to get into the team ..and then there's the players who've always been there and most importantly want to be there, win or loss. But they don't really matter now. Because Zlatan is back. We should really get rid of the whole team. Just put Zlatan up front. And it's a winner. WC has clearly shown that ONE superstar can win – no need of that silly thing called team ..really.
I completely agree with everything you've written. Oh, Henke Larsson! That is a true footballer and a man and my hero! Zlatan should wish that he could be a half a man Henke is.
And what you were saying ..the talk about he likes to win and wants to win. So when you lose isn't that motivation enough to try harder to achieve that goal. He's so used to getting everything on a silver platter so what's the difference really. He gets away with anything! Why try when you can go and come back 9 months later smile a little ..and all is good …and ppl applaud him …
I want to smash their heads into a wall ..over and over again!!!! ARGH!
"I have been able to be in Chelsea, Manchester City, Milan, etc… without even being there… so that’s fun.”
COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOl!!!
Great response Ibra!!!!
You also happened to be in one more place – OUR HEARTS.
Can't wait till the season starts!
