Ibrahimovic “I can play much better”

FC Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic expressed his dissatisfaction to the press regarding his  performances  in the last two matches.   “When I play badly, I recognise that and I think I played poorly in my last two games. I can play better” said the Swede.

Ibrahimovic , who hasn’t found the back of the net since his penalty in the derby against Espanyol said “I am not worried not to have scored for some time. If the team wins, it doesn’t matter if I score. I was very upset, for example, when we went out of the cup.”

Speaking on the recent contract renewal of manager Josep Guardiola , Ibrahimovic said “all of the players wanted him to stay, he’s doing an excellent job. This news means we can all rest easier … I never thought that a club like FC Barcelona would let a coach like Guardiola go”.

The striker was full of praise when asked about the gaffer : “He is a coach that speaks a lot to us. He is always telling us what to do better and is always on top of us, in training and in matches. He thinks football 24 hours a day and that’s why he enjoys so much success”.

Finally , he was asked to comment on the referees that seem to blow more fouls against him because of his bigger size : “When me and an opponent go for the ball, it looks like I’m going to kill him because I’m so big. I’ll just have to get used to the way they do things in Spain”  joked Ibrahimovic.

Totally agree with the comment above mine! Ibra alongside Bojan/Pedro with Messi seems logical, as Ibra, both Bojan/Pedro and Messi have scored more goals playing together versus Ibra playing alongside Henry! When Henry plays, 2-3 defenders mark Ibra off, making it very hard for Ibra or anyone else for that matter to play his game. When Pedro or Bojan plays alongside Ibra and Messi, Ibra has more freedom to play his game either finding Bojan, Pedro or Messi or scoring goals.. Of course everyone can improve, but im satisfied with Ibrahimovic performances this season. Hes scored in some crucial games for us.

tru, tru boys, good comments. it seems when pedro or bojani comes on they make more runs and this opens up space for ibra and messi. ibra seems to be a little lazy with his runs, we know xavi, messi and iniesta will give him a proper thru ball if he makes runs behind the defense. henry and ibra laziness in this category hurt us offensely when they both play together

  11. tobogan says:

Henry lazy? I know the guy hasn't scored much as of lately but that is certainly not because of an lack of effort, he works his arse off on the field. Henry probably runs more than everyone else on the field bar Alves.

  12. lol funny guy. nice to see he hasnt lost the edge. go zla! and to fans that are impatient with ibra, chill ppz. he's making an effort, me personally i'm satisfied with how far hes gone. isnt easy transplanting to a new club most esp barca that have ppl playing together for years, they have like esp between them. thats hard to break into.

think we should continue to rotate pedro/bojan and henry as all bring soemthing different to the table. henry concerned me a bit at the beginning of the season as he seemed to not be 100% committed but his last two games were very good, especially his balls into the box, the problem is that no-one is ever there. the one thing ibra really needs to improve on is to stop trying to be the play-maker (we have enough of those!) and get into the box ahead of play so he is ready for the crosses. add that to his natural game and he will be unstoppable

  14. Steve says:

I'm not worried. He will play better very soon!

Well thought, its true, seems like ibra doesent really wanna go for his tricks or pass the ball if he might loose it, i think he doesent wanna upset other players by loosing the ball so he gets caught in being a playmaker. But then again i think all this will come with time when he really feels that he is a part of the team. So i am not really worried.

Ibra gets slammed quite a bit for his supposedly mammoth ego but that's a very positive sign to hear the player being self critical..

    • Nigel says:

Agreed! It seems he's quite the opposite of everything said about him prior to his move to Barca. Sometimes you wonder, why the media exaggerates so much?
