Henry helps Haiti

Thierry Henry has shown his support for the people of Haiti with a huge donation to the Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) organisation from his The One 4 All Foundation.

Earlier this month a devastating earthquake struck the Caribbean island and the need for relief aid has seen the sporting world try to do everything that it can to help. Henry is doing what he can to help and has made a donation of €56,000 to the campaign.

The French forward still remembers when Hurricane Hugo had a similar effect on Guadalupe, the island where his father was born. “This tragedy has affected me a lot and I hope that everyone can do something to help Haiti,” he said. “It has touched me because 20 years ago something similar happened to Guadalupe and I know what the Haitians are going through.”

Henry then revealed that he knows people in Haiti and that has made the earthquake even more personal to him. “I have a lot of friends there,” he explained. “Haiti is a former French colony and it is like we are cousins. It is not easy to see what is happening and I want to help. I felt I had to do something and therefore I chose to make a contribution to Medecins Sans Frontieres.”

Our government donated almost the same amount of money XD, and it is not something you can brag about.

Long live Henry! That was very nice of him! Although I hear that Doctors without boarders are having trouble actually getting there and having their medicine shipped over. Hopefully it will be fixed. These ppl shouldn't suffer more then they are already.

Btw, this might be off topic .. but it's about Henry .. is it true that he will be "punished" for the handball incident? I think I've read it somewhere .. but I can't remember where now ..anyone know?

Blatter and Fifa couldn´t find any rule that says something about the handsitatuion, of course it was a handball but no rule says that the incident was completly henrys fault,… something is missing in the rule book so he´s available for the national team as long as he want to continue playing there. Even if I adore Henry as a person I really felt sry for North Ireland. But that´s history now.

I felt sorry for Ireland as well. I think the only fair situation would have been if the game was replayed again. But that's not gonna happened. As you say it's history now. But that's why I got confused when I saw the headline at some paper .. like 'Henry gets fined/punished for the handball incident" .. but since I was in a hurry I never really read the article per se.

      thx for the reply.
