Guardiola and Ibrahimovic given one match bans

The Liga Comité de Competición has punished Pep Guardiola and Zlatan Ibrahimovic with one match bans for the red cards that both men received during last week’s match against Almeria, according to all major Spanish news outlets.

Guardiola was sent to the stands in the 30th minute for protesting a decision made by the referee; Ibrahimovic was shown a straight red card for a foul on Almeria defender Cisma in minute 60 of the match. The suspensions mean that neither man will be available for Sunday’s game at the Camp Nou against Valencia.

FC Barcelona has made several public statements that have called into question the decisions made in Almeria by referee Carlos Clos Gómez. The club plans to appeal the suspensions later this week before the Comité de Apelación.

Barcelona made a mistake in signing [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic. He is a fantastic player individually speaking, but in a team he does not do well with others. His style of play is solitary," said Sacchi. "I already told Pep [Guardiola] that he had signed the best individual player in the world because he [Ibra] has everything – scoring ability, strength, talent – but he has problems. I hope he is able to resolve them. Right now he is suffering, but in 15 days everything could be better. It could be fantastic." Sachi says so, ex Italian Coach. Sad to see Pep hit by a ban, but surely Ibra must learn to keep his cool
