Galliani: “Negotiations will continue on Thursday”
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani, used AC Milan’s official media to assess the current status of the negotiations that are going on between the Blaugrana and the Italian club, regarding the transfer of FC Barcelona forward and Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic (28).
“Negotiations will continue tomorrow. At noon I have an appointment with the president of Barcelona. Let’s see,” Galliani said, before adding, “The transfer is very complex, very difficult and very expensive, but our relationship with Sandro Rosell is great. We have all three parties willing to make a deal, but we are speaking of a lot of money, in a crisis situation, here,” he added.
“We have several ways of funding the deal. I’m often reading in the newspapers regarding a swap deal including Borriello in order to reduce the price of the tranfer, but there is no truth in it. Barcelona are not interested in Borriello and we are only here to try and sign Ibrahimovic, that’s all.”
“I will not thrill anyone, but I do not want to say that the negotiations will not come to fruition either. I’ll try my best, which is evidenced by the fact that I’m here,” concluded Galliani, who arrived in Barcelona on Wednesday.
The meeting was also attended by FC Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bertomeu, Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola, and the treasurer of AC Milan Susana Monge. FC Barcelona president Sandro Rosell arrived late to the meeting due to another meeting he had with the player and his agent in order to discuss the clubs stance on the transfer (read more here).
The meeting took place at a restaurant in Barcelona where the representatives from both clubs had dinner.
