Friday training, Xavi and Milito train normally
On Friday morning, the group led by Josep Guardiola held their penultimate training session before facing Sevilla on Saturday. Eighteen players from the first team, including Milito and Xavi, have exercised along with rising reserve midfielder Thiago Alcántara, according to the club’s official website.
FC Barcelona continues to focus squarely on the preparation for the match this Saturday at the Camp Nou against Sevilla, in the ninth round of league competition.
On pitch number 7 of the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, all the first team players, except the injured Jeffren who will be out for about four weeks, trained along with youngster Thiago Alcantara. After Tuesday’s Cup win against Ceuta (0-2), this was the second training session in which the Santpedor coach had all the players available.
Xavi and Milito, who on Thursday joined the rest of their teammates after focusing on recovery work from their respective injuries, continued on Friday to train normally with the group. Also as Thursday, the only player from Luis Enrique’s team that has participated in the preparatory session of the first team has been Thiago Alcantara.
Unlike previous sessions, Víctor Valdés has also been involved in the warm-ups and exercises of the team. Today, just after these exercises, the group has been divided into two to contest a ball possession game, the object of which was to try to keep it for as long as possible.
