Expulsion of Guardiola means negative record in La Liga
Never have so many coaches in La Liga been sent to the stands as in the current season, according to Madrid sports paper AS. The expulsion of Pep Guardiola is the latest in the long list of coaches sent to the locker room early.
So far, 12 of the 27 coaches who have led a team in the league (seven have already changed coaches) have been expelled from matches. It has even happened twice to Miguel Ángel Lotina (Deportivo), Jose Luis Mendilibar (Valladolid) and Miguel Ángel Portugal (Racing Santander). In total, fifteen coaching ejections had taken place prior to this past weekend. By contrast, last season saw 13 expulsions over the same period, while there were only 7 in the 2007-8 season, and 10 in the 2006-7 campaign.
Saturday, Josep Guardiola was number sixteen on the list, a record in La Liga. The coach of Barcelona had to leave the game against Almeria after half an hour of play, because of comments made to the linesman.
“You do everything wrong. You miss everything,” were Guardiola’s words recorded in the report of Carlos Clos Gomez, the referee of the Almeria match.
This is Guardiola’s fourth time being sent-off as a coach. Last season, he protested in the Champions League game against Bayern Munich after a violent foul on Lionel Messi and was duly dismissed. In his time with Barcelona B, he was sent to the stands twice, both times against Manileu. In his playing career, the former midfielder was sent-off eight times.

east or west…Pep's the best!!!
i just saw on goal.com that Johan Cyuff said that someone in the team dont hold the standards, i am beginning to think that Cryuff is tryin to give them bad self-confident, cause he also said that or game against racing was or worst
He's being honest. There are definitely players that aren't living up to their potential.
when i said or i meant our
cruyff doesnt like iniesta!
Cruyff rates Pedro and Busquets below the required Barca standards.
and I have to agree.
Busquets makes way too many schoolboy mistakes for a starter and
Pedro does not have the technique to take on a couple of defenders on his runs.
which is precisely the reason why we need a Fabregas n a di Maria.
Doesn't like Iniesta just because the zombie doesn't score? Then, Cruyff's an idiot. Xavi should be hated then cause he always miss those 20 yard freekicks.
“You do everything wrong. You miss everything,” seems like a perfectly honest and accurate evaluation of Gomez's work. No bias, just raging incompetence. Sadly, if Pep actually said that, the appeal will not be successful.
