Medical: Iniesta potentially out for the rest of the season
Catalan sport papers Sport and El Mundo Deportivo report that FC Barcelona’s midfielder Andres Iniesta has injured himself in training this morning and will be out for a month.
According to the club’s medical staff, Iniesta suffered a recurrence of the torn hamstring injury he picked up in the match against Mallorca on March 27th, which already saw him side-lined for 10 days.
The player is now only expected to be back – should Barcelona make it – for the final of the Champions League.
At the Deportivo la Coruna pre-match press conference at the Ciutat Esportivo today, Pep Guardiola could not hide his pessimism: “He has hurt his leg. We are sad for him. Any kind of injury is painful, but especially the kind he suffers.
“Hope he recovers soon. But he is a very strong person and will again come back as he always does, as he has shown them time and again after an injury.
“For now, he is devastated, as are we all. We hope to reach as far as we can in the competitions that we have left and that he makes his return as soon as possible.”
Iniesta needs to have some more attention given to him to fix this issue. I wish I understood why he gets injured so easily. Hopefully he'll come along like Messi in the past two seasons and not suffer through this anymore after this. Heal well, Iniesta. Come back stronger and ready for the World Cup!

so bad, so unbelivable!! why inieste, why do you always get hurt in the last part of the season!? the most important part of the season.. just like last year.. he will be missed and it will be noticed.. one of the best midfielders in the world and almost just simply the best in keeping possesion.. the games against inter we will REALLY miss iniesta!! Noooo! This is horrible news. But we have shown in the past that we are not dependent on any one player, Barca is a team and we have shown that we can win without key players like Xavi, Messi, Zlatan, Pique, Puyol, etc. With that said: We wish you a quick recovery Iniesta!

this sucks, although this season has mostly been a wash for andres, in my opinion. it's sad that we never really got to see much of the player who so dazzled last year. he needs to get stronger and stay healthy. he needs messi legs.

We are a TEAM, not individuals like Madrid. So naturally every player knows their place, and can come in and do a similar job, even though that player might individually not be as good as the player he replaces. With Iniesta out, at least we get to play more goal scorers like Pedro and Keita and Ibra, which is also important.
NOT AGAIN! Andres,please recover as soon as possible…..The previous injury made me sad and this is something really horrible…..I had my head in the clouds until I read this news…..the joy of success is gone and I hope Wed's game will give me back that joy.

FUCK. I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. WHEN he is fit he is amazing, but this is getting terrible. In the summer, I think Pep should seriously consider buying an Iniesta type-player to actually take Iniesta's place. Iniesta will obviously be the starter when he is fit, but the other player will probably get more playing time anyways.
No way! Get Ibra on the pitch and Andres is covered. Ibra is our bodyguard! As seen in the game against Stutgart when Leo was pushed by Cacau (this can be seen at youtube). =)
i know how you feel but iniesta is just to good of a player. if u find someone as good as iniesta will he willingly sit on the bench. we should start molding thiago into our back up for iniesta. keita is good for back up too but more defensively than offense.
This is why particiapating in pre-season is crucial,iniesta and ibra were absent and now they been consently injured mostly iniesta…keita is a reliable back-up but he cannot play along xavi for consecituve matches/its important to now use thiago atleast in la liga and let keita play in champion league…Im confident barcelona are capable of winnig the double with or without iniesta/basically hes season is over it will be a huge gamble to play him in final after hes been out for a month and plus just let him heal so he could be ready for next season…huge chance for thiago![[jds aint much compare to thiago,guardiola just uses jds because hes gonna be on the world cup squad for mexico]]

I'm still sure that the team can continue on to win both titles this year.
If Iniesta can come back after a rough 18 month period of injury like Gabi Milito came back after an 18 month injury, then we will be reinforced next year… that's right this team effectively reinforced by another crack! Do you think Andres has his own personal doctor like the one they employed to shadow Messi about a year ago? It would be well worth the money.
Iniesta will not be missed. Anyways, he was not in top form this year.
