Best goal

Hady: FC Barcelona 5-0 Sevilla, October 30, 2010 – Villa 2-0

Mateo and Spencer: Zaragoza 2-4 FC Barcelona, March 21, 2010 – Messi 0-2

As Spencer states, this goal by Messi is pure brilliance!!

Watton: Racing Santander 0-3 FC Barcelona, August 29, 2010 - Iniesta 0-2

Normally something like this is the goalkeeper’s fault, but can you really fault him for not foreseeing that?

Cardenas, Alexandra and Rakun: FC Barcelona 5-0 Real Madrid, November 29, 2010 - Xavi 1-0

Cardenas: It might not be the most spectacular but the feeling of this goal definitely overwhelms me. This goal was full of emotion. Scored by one of our homegrown leaders. Against our biggest rival. On a Balon d’Or year. He IS the embodiment of Barça, just as Puyol. Love it.

Alexandra: This is my best goal because it was a typical Barça team play coming up to the goal, then the goal itself was pure beauty.

Rakun: It was exquisite touch and quick reaction… What skills!

doris86pl: FC Barcelona 2-1 Valencia, October 16, 2010 Iniesta - 1-1

My personal favourite was Iniesta against Valencia. I love it because it’s pure “Xaviesta” style, a great pass, and a nice goal.

Ivich: FC Barcelona 5-0 Real Sociedad, December 12, 2010 – Messi 4-0
Real Madrid 0-2 FC Barcelona, April 10, 2010 – Pedro 0-2

There are two ways of evaluating this: in terms of significance and sheer beauty. When it comes to the latter, there is Messi’s second goal against Real Sociedad, perhaps because it is most fresh in memory. But for perfect timing and its vitality it has to be Pedro’s goal in El Clasico game of last season.

Best goal celebration

Mateo, Rakun and Ivich: Messi hugging his mother, FC Barcelona vs. Valladolid, 16/5/10

Ivich: I get all emo whenever I look at Messi hugging his mom when he scored the 34th goal for FC Barcelona and tied the club record for most goals by a Barcelona player in a La Liga season (with Ronaldo). It says so much about Messi: humble, joyous, a family man and so grateful.

Cardenas: Villa grabs Messi’s face and I swear he says “OPAH!”, FC Barcelona vs. Panathinaikos, 14/9/10

doris86pl: Iniesta dedicating his goal to his forthcoming daughter, FC Barcelona vs. Valencia,  16/10/10

Spencer: I’m a romantic so Puyol’s heart celebration, 16/10/10

Hady: Villa saluting the fans, FC Barcelona vs. Sevilla, 30/10/10

Alexandra and doris86pl: Bojan, FC Barcelona vs. Ceuta, 10/11/10

Honorable mention: While this wasn’t a goal scored for FC Barcelona, the wonderful tribute by Barça player Iniesta deserves a special mention.

Alexandra, doris86pl, Spencer and Watton: Iniesta honors Dani Jarque, Spain vs. Netherlands, World Cup Final, 11/7/10

Watton: This wasn’t for Barca, but doing something like that after scoring at the end of the biggest game in the world in any sport was pretty great.  So great it made Espanyol love him.  I even saw one of their supporters holding up one of their shirts with Iniesta’s name on the back.  That’s breaking new territory in goal celebrations.

Spencer: Iniesta’s world cup winning celebration was truly beautiful.

I'm a big fan of link up plays, so Messi's 2nd against Panathinaikos and his first against Villareal are joint first. :)
As for celebrations, I thought Villa's celebration after he scored his second goal in the Clasico was just great. The way he went sliding down on his knees. Pure unadulterated joy :')

  10. Halo says:

    Fantastic! One of my favorites.
It reminds me of another goal that left me with no words. The – how would you call it? – triple-double-pass of Alves and Messi (Real Sociedad):

    VISCA BARCA!!!

  12. El_Salvador says:

I like the Villa goal against Sevilla! What a wonderful action from Messi and what an exquisit finish of Villa.

  13. Abdullah says:

i agree but also and most importantly the importance of the goal and the joy it gave everyone at the 9th minute!! :p

  14. 19cule91 says:

exactly, especially between 1st and 3rd assists, I desperately wanted to choose them both, but finally I chose "Miniesta"<3 they were all beautiful, thanks guys for bringing back all those great memories.

  15. CatalanWizard10 says:

Messi's thrid vs Arsenal, where he chipped the keeper before halftime to complete his first half hat-trick, was my favorite goal of 2010… Although, I could also support his first and the fourth goals in that match.

  16. GUARDIOLA says:

Also Messi's hat trick vs. Tenerife last season, where he scored all 3 goals from his FIRST TOUCH!!!

  17. Syed_Mesam says:

do you think this zaragoza goal can beat that getafe one (the maradona remake) o_O ??

  18. Syed_Mesam says:

brilliant one too… indeed a "work of art". These footballers belong to Louvre when they retire : ))

  19. Maxmaxmaz says:

Oh man thats a tough question. Cause the getafe goal will always have that special part in my heart. On the other hand the zaragoza goal doesn't only shows messi's skills but also strength, he out muscled the ball from that player and went on to show off his skill and score. so tough call….uh oh um… i dunno. I think i will go with…the zaragoza goal. both are amazing goals

  20. Syed_Mesam says:

manita mania starting from here *_*

  21. Maxmaxmaz says:

No they do not. They have one of the strongest leagues…… thong modeling leagues that is. So thats why Christiano is good there

  22. Maxmaxmaz says:

PLEASE stop referring to him as Ronaldo. There was and will always be one Ronaldo. This one is Christiano

  23. GeorgesK says:

it's great to see the full sequence here. Barça start the 2nd half with the ball and a minute later, bam!, it's a goal and Real Sociedad haven't even touched the ball in the entire half.

  24. GeorgesK says:

i love the delayed reaction from the crowd. it's kind of like the reaction to Messi's 4th goal vs. Real Sociedad (see above). the crowd is saying "huuuuuh?.. whaaa?… yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!" it's like it took an extra second to realise what you're actually seeing.

  25. YuP says:

I loved when Villa scored second goal against Madrid and when he saw Messi he squeezed him like a teddy bear. Together they are so adorable… :D

  26. GeorgesK says:

i think my favourite celebration was Pedro's goal in the last clasico. he was screaming with pure emotion and then just gets mauled by the rest of the team. i think everyone felt that they got kinda lucky with the bounce off of Marcelo on Xavi's first goal, but with that second one just a few minutes later it was like "oh yeah, we're gonna own these #$^%$%!" they weren't just celebrating a goal, they were celebrating the realisation that they were without a doubt the best team in the world.

  27. Nelson says:

Messi's goal is just the product of a genuin GENIUS.
But i'll go for Xavi's goal against Madrid. I cried when he scored that goal. An assist from non otther than Iniesta to be finished impecably by Xavi and to top it up against Madrid. I couldnt ask for more.

    Is Messi human??

  28. CatalanGiant says:

very, very well said……Srsly dere is no way Madrid can be compared to Barca…….Barcelona is a hundred clouds above Real Madrid

  29. CatalanGiant says:
