Barca fans ‘serenade’ Inter players
Madrid sports paper Marca has reported that a group of 20-30 FC Barcelona supporters met around 01:00 in the middle of the night, at the doors of the hotel where Champions League Semifinal rivals Inter spent the night to ‘serenade’ the players with a cacerolada, or ‘sauce-pan banging demonstration,’ with the intent to disturb the Italian team’s sleep.
Thus, for the Barca fans, the game has already begun. It is an act that can serve as a preview for Mourinho’s men, so they can go prepared for what awaits them in Camp Nou. The now-famous ‘trap’ for them that is being prepared seems to go beyond the stadium. Between canticles of support for Barça and against Inter, this is how the night before the decisive match for the Italian team went.
The latest reports indicate that these actions are developing in a festive atmosphere without any type of violent actions. However, the police are being vigilant in order to avoid any type of problem that might arise.
In addition, according to Catalan news site Sport, the hotel in which Mourinho and his team are staying has maximum security and is surrounded by a fence; so the amount of sleep lost during the cacerolada may have been minimal.
