Aguero: “Today, Messi Is The Best”

In a recent interview with World Soccer Magazine, Atletico Madrid forward Sergio Aguero (21), has backed his Argentina teammate Lionel Messi, after the latter won the FIFA World Player of the Year award.

“It’s well deserved. He’s won the treble, something that every player wants to win, and he’s got so much class too. There are plenty of quality players out there like Xavi, Iniesta, and Cristiano Ronaldo, but Leo has proved he is the best.”

When asked if he thought Messi can reach the illustrious heights of Pele, or even his father-in-law and Argentina national coach Diego Maradona, Aguero said, “It’s different now because there are many players who are very good: Cristiano, Messi, Kaka, Xavi, Iniesta, that’s half a dozen for you already, and there are many more. Before, Diego was on his own, or there were maybe two or three players who really stood out; now there are many. But like I keep saying, today Messi is the best.”

Asked if he thought Leo was happy with the way things were going with the national team, the Atletico star said, “It’s not his fault, it’s a different thing playing for Argentina than playing for your club. With your team, you train every day, you know how each other moves, you know where the ball is going to be played. With Argentina I do not always know exactly how Tevez is going to move, for example, and we have so far failed to become a team in which we all know each other well.”

  2. SJP says:

guess there is no chance we could get aguero for LW, far more suited than ribery and gonna be a great player

  3. Kun come to us please

  4. LM10ARG says:

I have said it before, Kun-Ibra-Messi will be absoluetly deadly. No way on earth any other club can match our attack…And yes Kun would be cheaper to get than ribbery and in the past Aguero also wanted to play in Barca alongside Messi.

ru serious if argentina have a gud world cup kuns price which is 60m and up wud sky rocket to 75m or more. and yep i wud love to have him before silva or ribery. 1. kun, 2. ribery, 3. silva.
kun has a bit 1-1 on prob he wud score outrageous goals but miss simple ones. anyways teh way he plays and his potential and for his age i think he is teh only one who can truly challenge messi in terms of teh best ever or one of teh best ever or best player in teh world.
he really can change matches at will and it doesnt matter who he is playing against, last year was barca and real and liverpool and this year chelsea. really out of this world talent.

Is it even certain Aguero will play that much in WC?

Argentina has Lisandro, Higuain, Tevez, Messi, Milito, Aguero. That's a lot of great forwards!

last summer he urged messi to help him move to barca.
    wonder why nothing happened then.
