Unai Emery: “Everything suggests that Villa will not be ready”
Valencia’s coach, Unai Emery, said that he will not risk David Villa, in the match against Barcelona if there is a chance of his injury relapsing, reports Catalan Paper Sport.
“We all want to shorten the (recovery) times, but the important thing is the progress of the injury. Depending on what we have seen this week, everything makes me think that it will not be, although nothing will be decided until hours before to the match,” he added.
Emery also added that Valencia has a deep squad and does not depend on only one player to be competitive. “We are prepared for any absences, they are barely noticeable,” he indicated.
On the ailments of Manuel Fernandes Jeremy Mathieu and Asier del Horno, he affirmed that they are minor ailments. “Fernandes had a bruised ankle, has a small sprain and out as a precaution. Mathieu and del Horno, they have difficulties and we have decided rest them,” he clarified.
He also referred to Rubén Baraja and said that the player is training well after having recovered from his injury. “The best possible thing is to give him some minutes,” he pointed out.
On the Barcelona match, Emery said he wants the Mestalla faithful to get behind his team and promises to offer the best possible performance when playing at home.

Still a strong team without Villa, Barca should not underestimate them.
Barca never underestimate their opponents so i believe the players will approach the game with the same mentality although i believe the results of the match will be close like Valencia 2:3 Barca
Never believe the trash talk of a spanish coach, or any other coach in those matters. Injuries will be magically healed right before the match and the player will play the ball like he was never injured…
