Tony Adams wants to take Henry to New York Red Bulls
Catalan sports paper Sport reports that former Arsenal player Tony Adams is about to become coach of the New York Red Bulls and reportedly wants to take Barcelona forward Thierry Henry (32) with him to the USA. Adams played in Arsenal during the years 1983-2002, where he even played alongside Thierry Henry. They both have made history in Gunners shirt and now Adams has personally asked the French international to follow him to New York. The British coach knows that Henry has planned to finish his career in MLS, therefore he wouldn’t hesitate to ask Henry to join. Henry’s possible departure from Barcelona would obviously become effective from next season, because the player has no intention to leave the Catalan club sooner. Henry also wants to ensure his place in the World Cup, which will most likely be his last.

This is not happening. Henry will stay with us for many more years. We just bought him 2 years ago!
i don't think so.. he will probably go to the red bulls next year.
hes past his best, time for bojan and pedro to shine, also gai assulin…and also his contract expires and wont get it renew…
It's time to get rid of him.
Hello,
First, thank you for creating this exceptional website! I am a new fan, who has fallen in love with FC Barcelona. I am the mom of a 13-yr-old who plays recreational soccer, and our soccer "roots" are with MLS, since we live in the Dallas, TX area. It was our local MLS team that inspired my soccer passion, because until I went to one of their games, I was not really a fan. Now, I am addicted to the Beautiful Game!
That said, if Theirry Henry plans to move to MLS, he needs to understand it would be a MAJOR step down, and he needs to look at why he wants to come here. As much as I love my local team (FC Dallas), they are nowhere near the level of a team like FC Barcelona. And this past season, New York was the WORST team in our league.
If Henry comes to NY and MLS as a player / ambassador, like David Beckham has done, then that would be a good thing. In fact, it would be GREAT to have him here — so long as he understands what the league is really like. While MLS is not at a top level league, it IS growing. If Henry just wants to come here to "retire," than no thanks.
I have two views of my home league. After watching Barcelona play, it is very difficult for me to watch the rough, physical style of play that most MLS teams have (being a Barca fan, now, has spoiled me!!). But then again, MLS is improving and growing each year. We can certainly use players of Henry's talent to help our league grow. And anything that helps soccer to be more successful and popular in the USA is a good thing.
Nice post! Welcome to the site!
welcome to totalbarca.com…
We got another woman on our site xD
ok bad joke =P
Welcome

Welcome
Welcome
This that good or bad?
We are a "soccer family." My daughter plays, my spouse plays (recreational). . . and I am the fan(antic)
its GOOD,
since we dnt have alot of women on our site.
Or lets say, you dont hear alot from the women =P
Great to hear that. Welcome to the club!
I am sure Henry playing for the NY Red Bulls will be a huge boost for them, along with Tony Adams as coach. Henry's experience will definitely be invaluable and he can be a great ambassador for the club.
"being a barca fan as now spoiled me" whao i love that post.
Welcome,welcome,welcome!
I like this move for Henry…Not much more for the player to do in International football and he's already professed a love for coming to the US…Having Adams run the show in NYC, which Henry prefers, makes it a pretty nice match.
Hes not having a great start to his season this year, Pedro is maturing quickly. Maybe its time for him to leave.
I am sure about one thing. Barca will not count on Henry next season. They will try to buy a left forward, and when that happens Henry will be searching a new club. He has still to give but not in USA. Maybe some english club again,
Thanks for the welcome, guys!
I didn't start watching Barcelona until last spring, when we signed up for the Spanish package on our cable TV (so that we could watch more futbol!). I was watching and still watch AC Milan (since Italian soccer is on Fox Soccer Channel), and then FC Bayern — so that was the first time I watched Barcelona play, when they played Bayern in the Champions League. Wow — I have fallen completely in love with the entire team and the beautiful game that they play!
But concerning Henry, now that I KNOW the current team and the players, he has not been impressing me. It might be my imagination, but I see a lack of drive/effort, it seems. The team seems to improve when he is not on the field and someone like Pedro is.
So, maybe he is ready (after the 2010 World Cup) to try MLS and the NY Red Bulls. It would be great if they could become as competitive as the LA Galaxy became this season.
Yeah I agree that this will be Henry's last season in Barcelona, honestly we should have sold him last summer when he was worth something. He is a different player this year from last, you can (and should) blame it on age and injuries, but he has also lost motivation in my opinion. If the next step for him is the MLS his experience will be no different from Beckham's. He and Tony Adams will just end up frustrated. All i know is i cant stand to see him taking any more arthritic touches, weak shots, and falling over every play while on Barca.
Oh yeah and he should probably go to a city with fewer Irish people.
lol fewer irish people, good one…
If he's a great player he should leave the big scene when he's on it's top. So I personally hope that Henry will contribute enough this year, so we can defend our CL title at least and then have a great end of his career from the next season
Henry is a legend. Im sure he will rediscover some of his good form this season and show all his critics that he still has some gas in the tank and some that fire burning within him. He was one of our most underappreciated players last year. Scored some crucial goals (the draw at Valencia , scoring to level and to take a 2 goal lead in Madrid , the important goal in Lyon etc)
But i dont think the club will force him out. And im very sure he doesnt lack motivation , But if he chooses to leave , i hope we get a good replacement. Visca Thierry !
Tony Adams aspires to be manager of Arsenal one day, not sure how managing in the US league would further that. Have things progressed in the US since the days of Dennis Tuert? (The whole Beckham US palaver seemed more about David's modeling and Posh's frock-designing career than anything to do with football.)
Plus Henry is very keen to see more, not less, of his only child, who lives in London. I suspect he's just one of a whole posse of ex-Gunners lining up for jobs back at the club, including Adams and Bergkamp.
