Barcelona player and French International Thierry Henry has been nominated for the Golden Foot Award-2009. This award recognizes the best active football players of at least 29 years of age.

Thierry Henry who scored 26 goals in all competitions in the treble winning season for Barcelona is among three other finalists, Raul (Real Madrid), Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus), and Ronaldinho (AC Milan), who have been selected through a voting process of at least 158,000 internet voters. The winner will be announced this Monday.

These four finalists surpassed the likes of David Beckham (LA Galaxy), Luis Figo (Inter Milan), Ryan Giggs (Manchester United), Francesco Totti (AS Roma), David Trezeguet (Juventus), and Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), who were all among the nominees.

    surely he deserves it after the very spectacular performance last season. i don't know if he can replicate it this season however.

    I love Ronaldinho but I don't think he should be on here, Gerrard deserves it more.
