Robinho no longer agitating for Barcelona move

According to ESPN Soccernet, Manchester City forward and Brazilian international Robinho (25) is no longer agitating for a move to Barcelona as he prepares to return to action for Manchester City. A month ago, Robinho caused controversy at City when he told Brazilian radio station Radio Bandeirantes: “I’m very happy about the interest that Barcelona have in me. Playing at Camp Nou, it is much easier to be the best player in the world than at City.”

Sources close to the player have reportedly told that “it is not true” that Robinho no longer wants to play for Mark Hughes and has set his heart on a move to Barcelona. There are strong reasons Robinho has been advised to forget his desire to play for Barcelona and to knuckle down at Manchester City. Firstly, and perhaps most significantly, the usual behind-the-scenes preliminary negotiations between third parties have broken down. Reports claim that Barcelona do not have the funds available at the moment and have only been seeking a loan deal, which City have ruled out without much consideration.

Secondly, Robinho has been out injured for some time and needs to prove his fitness and return to peak form to persuade Barcelona to resurrect their interest and make a proposal that might tempt City into opening negotiations. So far, there has been no need for the two clubs to talk directly as they have both been made aware that nothing has been presented that would temp either club to discuss the matter formally.

With the World Cup coming up, Robinho needs to play regularly to ensure he makes the Brazil national team, and there is a suspicion that if he joined Barcelona he would not be an automatic choice in a side with so many options in attack. Robinho is in line for his comeback for Manchester City against Hull on Saturday, his first appearance since suffering a stress fracture of the ankle in August.

What the hell? That's not an attitude we need at Barça… I say forget about him and go for suarez!
Just a small question: Would Kun Agüero ever be an option for Barcelona?

  3. Blaugrana says:

Let him rot in Manchester Shitty

  5. Kun Aguerro is too expensive and too small. I don't like him at all.

small player rule at barca.. we beat players with speed and precision passes.. strength isn't really necessary unless your playing our CF, DM or defensive positions.

  6. Fenderek says:

Thank God for that! I'm so happy!
And what were all those newspaper articles saying he was already signed worth? Absolutely NOTHING! God, that whole "Robinho joins Barca" was making me so angry, it was so not Barca style… The guy is not Barca material- especially mentally…

  7. dont need him, we have pedro, hes a great prospect for the future

"I’m very happy about the interest that Barcelona have in me. Playing at Camp Nou, it is much easier to be the best player in the world than at City.”

Didn't he say something like that before he moved to Man City?

Indeed we dont need robinho, and seriously im tired of romours of suarez we also dont need him..we got pedro/bojan/gai and many for promising youngsters in our academy. We dont need to be making unneccesary signings. This year 2/3 siginings were required and chiggyy ofcourse guardiola he has good passing but doesnt always position himself and not enough speed.I would of been glad if fontas or muniesa would of have been giving a chance despite their youth..and you what muniesa is a better passer and has more technique than chiggy ans also is used to the system like fontas.GUARDIOLA…

    • marc4barca says:

i'm also tired of people mentioning gai as a back up for our left wing like he has done something out of this world. we need reinforcements and they better be experienced and very good at their position i don't care what the person's attitude is, what they want to achieve(individual awards) or what history they have(former real player, talked shit about barca, banned from football for a while etc) . i care about winning la liga and CL and rubbing it in real's face.

I agree with marc4barca. Gai, Muniesa and Fontas do not have the experience to play at the highest level. We need world class quality now, those 3 will be world class in the future, but the future is not now. Thus, we need to have the best players playing right now to get us the results. Gai can't replace an experienced, world class winger. Muniesa and Fontas cannot replace a world class CB.

well did pedro do anything in his first game?no not really he wasnt even considered a first team player and he was thinking of going on loan…he just scored important goals and guardiola gave him confidence, and gai can improve so much if he is with the first team..hes time with the youth team is up…and he is gonna renew his contract.why you think jeffren going out loan to some other team…and suarez aint that great.you know anyone can score in holland its a easy league look at huntelar whats he doing for ac milan.

      • well how can he do something out of this world.if he barely plays for the first team?

I've always said this and I'll say it again Fcuk Robinho

  12. Mido says:

Now I want Pedro to be no7 it will be a dream 27-17-7 he deserves it

  13. you9 says:

    That's much better.
I don't want Robinho in Camp Nou.
    We have Pedro now!

  14. Gustavo_Barcelonista says:

pedro aint that great…bojan is way better, but yeahh guardiola just has confidience in him because he wants to make him the next big thing to come out of la masia.but if bojan were given the same minutes as pedro we see the different of their talents bojan is a goalscores, most of the goals pedro score he has just to hit in the right place and he got some skill but doesnt get involve enough in plays and when he doesnt usually ruins them,I mean im thankfull for him for scoring important goals but is a dependent player in another club he will seem ordinary unlike bojan who has something extra…and GUARDIOLA GIVE HIM MORE MINUTES,I hope he starts against xerez on wednsday!!!

  15. although I'm happy Robinho isn't coming, Barca do need more depth. Pedro is good, but having another experianced striker to help if Ibra is gone woldn't hurt. Henry has shown he cannot be counted on. We need another powerful striker. Again, Pedro and Bojan are good, but someone with experiance wouldn't hurt.

  16. Louis-Ferdinand says:

Thank God. FC Barcelona should rather by the next big star and the closest thing you get to Messi! MAURO ZARATÈ POR FAVOR!

  17. Louis-Ferdinand says:

    Correction: Buy.
