  1. I hope he recovers in time for the Valencia game…

  2. Tes says:

Who will be Xavis sub if he's out? I dont know if Iniesta is up for dominating the midfield yet like Xavi. Iniesta/Keita and some youth player?

  3. i believe he will make it and if he don't busquets will take his spot.

  4. Leo10 says:

Its not even serious, besides Xavi has played injured many times before.

  5. HouseMD says:

That's why Barca need to secure another midfielder as soon as possible. Last season passed without any main injuries surprisingly. This squad needs more depth. Dos Santos is not ready to participate in some important games. At this moment it's unrealistic goal to get Cesc this winter, but if Robinho come than Iniesta can play his natural position in the midfield. Someone like Vieira can do this job, especially during ANC, but as it seems now he'll join Lazio in January.

  6. Tengku says:

Xavier Hernandez, one of the many 'cookie's' playing for Barcelona.

  7. JBarca says:

"cookies"? What is that supposed to mean? Xavi is probably the player that has played the most minutes of all the players in the world in the last years, if you really believe this guy is injury prone, you need your head examined.

Those who keep chanting JDS & Thiago, chill it out guys… Their best chance would be to integrate into the team like Iniesta did; Slow but Sure!!! And I guess we'd get to keep only 1 of them, holding onto both of them would be very difficult I reckon :(
One of Iniesta & Busi is gonna be the successor of Xavi.
Some body mentioned Busi would be taking Xavi's role against Valencia if Xavi's not fit to play, I'd love to watch that happen… But I guess iniesta would do it because, for one Busi ain't yet ready and Iniesta had his break-through year in 2005-06 season, playing as CM. He's more than capable to play there… as much as he's a treat to watch while dribbling and taking defenses with his little tricks, he's a very good creative mid-fielder. If Iniesta dominated the mid-field and led the team to Liga & CL double when he was 21, imagine him doing it now with all the experience that he had gathered meanwhile… Priceless!!!

Are you serious?? Busquets as a creative midfielder?? No way!! First of all Sergio is off to an awful start, in my opinion. He has lacked passing qualities, cost us some goals and just is not ready. Second, Busquets is no way as creative as the Xaviniesta. I have not seen him create a play with magic, not once. Third, before Busquets is creative mid I believe Yaya would take that place and JDS would be called up since Thiago is injured.

When Messi isn't playing, Barcelona still plays very well but when Xavi isn't playing, our level of game goes way down. He is our most important player.

Thank you! I totally agree. That's why we need a suitable backup for Xavi… Cesc Fabregas!
Iniesta is quite different than Xavi and I personally believe that Cesc can fill in Xavi's role better than Iniesta. Iniesta is better as the more "attacking" midfield player.

      • chazan says:

I agree that Cesc is an excellent replacement and backup for any of, Xavi or Iniesta. I do disagree with you that Iniesta is better as a winger, I think that is what you meant since Iniesta is already an attacking or should I say "creative" midfield player, than a creative mid. Iniesta at his top form is unstoppable in that position.

  10. Tengku says:

Xavi is a lil' bit better than Fabregas but Fab will soon be a world class player. I'm sure. He'll be better than Xavi.
