Maradona: “I can’t see Madrid challenging Barca for the title”
In an exclusive interview with Madrid based sports newspaper ‘Marca’ today, Diego Armanado Maradona, Argentina’s coach said he is certain that Barcelona is a level above Real Madrid.
“I just can’t see Madrid challenging Barca for the title. Pep Guardiola leads a team in which every player knows what to do, they play by memory, while the Real Madrid (team) that played in the Copa has left me with a lot of doubts,” saying the Blaugrana coach can rest easy because he has “Messi, the cherry in a magnificent line-up”.
And the ‘albiceleste’ coach also view Barcelona as a more complete team, “With Cristiano, (Real Madrid) can get a result but Barca is very strong as a team. It does not depend on the individuals, but Messi contributes a lot more to their play. The only advantage Cristiano has over Leo is in his (powerful) strike but Messi is currently better than Cristiano (overall)”.
Continuing with his praise for Barcelona, Maradona concludes the interview by complimenting another one of the Blaugrana’s player, Xavi Hernandez: “It was some time since I last saw a player with such foresight; he has the vision to control everything”.
I'm glad the drugs didn't get to he's head enough to clout his judgement. He was a Culé so I'm glad he knows his colors…

well they challenged us for the title until the last few weeks until the murder day in bernabeu happened LOL
now that they have spend over half a billion dollars, of course they should expect to challenge Barca once again!!!
But I think this team will reach its potential in the next few years not this year certainly!
Once they get Ronaldo back, they will start playing well again I'm sure but they are just to disorganised and crappy in defense to beat the super teams like Man U, Barca and Chelsea.

All Cule should be proud this genius have worn the blaugrana jersey(I know I am). Anyway I preferred him going mental at the Bombonera(as a boca holligan) than making a mess out of Argentina! Lets face the truth, Diego don´t know shit about coaching! Diego coach with his heart, not his brain!!!!!!! Not a recipe for World Cup glory!.
