Liverpool willing to loan Keirrison

Reports in both Portugal and Brazil claim that Barcelona loan-out and Benfica forward Keirrison (21) might move to Liverpool in a six months loan deal. Barcelona’s summer move for the Brazilian disappointed Liverpool coach Rafa Benitez who had been tracking the youngster for some time and had failed with a move in the last January transfer window. Keirrison’s loan move to Benfica was supposed to allow the player to get used to the European style of play but the young Brazilian’s chances in the first team have been limited. Barcelona are reportedly unhappy at their striker’s lack of playing action at Benfica and are willing to loan him to another club in Europe or back to Brazil where several clubs are targeting the player.

Keirrison has enjoyed a prolific record in Brazilian league, where he has played with Coritiba and Palmeiras and was the best scorer in the year 2008. His record in his homeland speaks for itself so it’s of no surprise that a number of European clubs had been alerted to his talent. Despite Keirrison’s young age he has already shown just how prolific he can be. Last season alone he has scored an impressive 20 goals in just 31 league appearances, 30 from starting lineup. This is a remarkable feat since this was only his second league season after scoring 12 goals in 32 league appearances in his first campaign. Few youngsters in world football have boasted such an impressive strike rate as 37 goals in 70 league appearances.

Liverpool were one of a list of interested clubs last summer that included Arsenal, Olympiakos, Real Madrid and Valencia. Rafa Benitez has reportedly declared his interest in bringing Keirrison to Anfield in a short-term loan deal to provide competition for both Spanish international Fernando Torres (25) and French youth international David N’Gog (20).

Can't believe Kerrison is OLDER than N'Gog!!!!!!!

  2. might be a good move, with Torres being there only full time striker, N'gog and him can battle for a place,. might do him good

  3. Frank says:

    Wow

If this loan deal to EPL is done, there will certainly be no more complaints that he isn't getting exposed to top class football

  4. barcacanada says:

i would like this move for him; he is being underutilized and undertrained right now imo.

  5. Bojantee says:

Can u all see the number of clubs that were interested in k9 before we signed him.so i dont think we should ever afford to loose him.and for the loan i think its better coz liverpool got just 3 center forwards.torres, kuyt and ngog.so keirrison would have the chance.as torres is injury prone.

  6. Anurag says:

And add to that – NGog is a pathetic player

  7. JBarca says:

That's excellent! He would probably get less playing time than with us! Fantastic.

But I wouldnt surprise me that stupid Txiki tries this as well. His stupidity is endless.

Just imagine in a year or two Barca's front line: Bojan-K9-Pedro or Pedro-Bojan-Messi or Pedro-K9-Jeffren….. the options are infinite. And they're all very young. Great future for FCB!

    • That's very promising although I still prefer a tall n quick player for CF position. That's said we'll have more high-ball option like we have now with Ibra. :)

lol the fact that he left messi out two of those line ups is surprising.. do u think messi will leave so soon or leave at all. do u even think zlatan will be gone by next season or season after next i dont think so not after we paid so much for him. 4-5years is the time those mentioned maybe in the frontline with messi. some people become great playing as a super sub and pedro maybe their for a long time as i see barca wanting a more complete left winger.

          LOL!
to be honest i dont see Pedro-K9-Jeffren setting the world on fire exactly.. even in the future.. but thats just my opinion. if they were really that good.. we would have seen it. we all knew messi was going to be truly great even back when he was 17-18 yrs old. with some players you just know. Pedro-K9-Jeffren are all 20 already.. and i dont think they will improve much more and become ballon d or contenders. Especially for pedro and jeffren… for K9 i dont know.. can only tell once he actually comes to barca and plays. with some players you just know they are headed for greatness. I just knew that when i first saw messi play in the first team… and i am sure so did everyone else.

no houuse md imadine dat k9,messi n surez 3 south americans wat u tink barca fans

    • HouseMD says:

Yeah, I really like Suarez and it would be great to see him playing in Barca shirt. On the other side, I'm really concerned about all those players Barca already have on that position. Pedro, Jeffren, Assulin… it would be shame not to give them a proper chance.

  10. This could be a good one. EPL is one of the best league nowadays, and I think it's good for him to compete in a top league. Thing is, hopefully he won't get injured by the EPL players.. LOL.

  11. barca yute says:

mastara arief wen ibra leaves hw abt rthe man from togo adebayor

  12. So many teams want Keirrison, why did we send him to Benfica? The next loan deal should include a clause that requires him to play so many games.

  13. FCB_fR3aK says:

He's a great prospect for the future !

  14. he needs to prove himself if he is to come to fc barcelona..but i think its the best option for him to go to liverpool theres gonna be plenty of games for him to provehimself and could learn from fernando torres…and maybe we could sell him to liverpoolol… :D DDDD

  15. Barca4life2 says:

Fantastic news!!!!! This would be perfect for all parties. Barcelona get to allow K9 to develop. Liverpool get the much needed help they need upfront with all their injury concerns and low number of forwards. Best of all though K9 gets to play regular soccer and hopefully adapts to european soccer.

  16. David says:

It is so flipping stupid to loan him to Benfica who has a really good strike force. We should have loaned him to Porto who wanted him before we bought him and Porto because Lisandro's transfer means there are less compitition and Porto plays 4-3-3 so he could have adapted to the 4-3-3. Anyway, a loan to Liverpool would be great because Torres(main competition) have some long term problem with his groin or something and it is expected that he will have injury problems in the future. Ngog and Voronin are hopeless plus they prefer Kuyt on the right or behind the stiker. Therefore, there will be a good chace for Keirrison to get some playing time.

Liverpool "willing" to loan Keirrison? They will be fucking honoured to take Keirrison for 6 months!

  19. Zizou says:

Wow!,this is fantastic news for both clubs and fans!!!!!
Kierrison will grow there,be exposed to top club action, experience from star players like gerrard and torres.i really think they shopuld also extend it to next season so he can rewally adapt properly.plus i dont see any space at Barca,Bojan should be given a fair chance to play and pedro/jeffren/gai needs to be exposed to the barca philosiphy 1st,so i'ld welcome him back prob in 2011

    • Barca fan says:

we cant keep him on loan forever. at some point he will have to come barca! i think 2 seasons on loan is far as it goes and this season already counts as one.
In all honesty, I am even curious to know how keirrson would do on the LW… as thats the position we need the most right now. even though he is a an out and out striker… i would like to see him play a few smaller games at LW at barca. maybe next pre season summer? and then decide if we want to loan him out again.

  20. Zizou says:

    Imagine Barca's lineup around 2015:-
    Pedro,Messi,Jeffren,Gai,Bojan,K9-Attack
    Busquets,J. Dos Santos,Thiago and more-Midfield
    Muniesa(new puyol),henrique,pique,and more(i cant remember r. now)-defence
    Oier O…….(and more i hope)-GK

    • Barca fan says:

great lineup but i still think its not going to be anywhere near our great treble winning team of 2009
      VV
      alves pique puyol abidal
      xavi toure iniesta
      messi eto henry

the class of 2009 will forever live on… ONE treble in 100+ years. only one amongst spanish clubs. as much as i would love it… its unlikely that will happen too often. and also the way we played, the entertainment value, etc… now thats a starting 11 any other starting 11 in history wil be scared to match! lets see how the new challengers(aka class of 2015) live up to it…

    • Barca fan says:

and surely… iniesta will be around in 2015!!! he will be 31 years old! i would like to think he will be around till atleast 33-34. retire at barca.

  21. friedchicken says:

Hope this pull through. I think this is a resounding yes on everyone here at tb.com

  22. impey says:

k9..lets bring him back..we only have one scoring natural 9 in ibra…liverfools system is shit, hitting high & long balls only!!

  23. barca yute says:

barca fans look like our man surez is headed to chelsea saw dat on goal.com n tribalfootball.com
