LFP have called to meeting for a possible strike2

The football League (LFP) will have an extraordinary meeting on Friday 6. November 11:00. This is a meeting between them and the groups in the parliament who have decided to raise the taxes for foreigners with an income from 600 000 euros or above, in each year. LFP hope they can change this decision, as they claim it will damage La Liga’s position, but also the clubs, and how attractive they will be for both the players and the fans. LFP announced yesterday that they could possibly go to a strike, if the law will stand firm from January. Spain’s financial minister, Elena Salgado, made sure that the law will not count for the current foreign players with an income above 600 000 euros.
