Gai Assulin wanted by Arsenal

English tabloid The Sun claims that Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, is showing interest in Barcelona Atletic starlet Gai Assulin (18). The young winger made his debut in the Israeli national team 14 days before he turned 176. Chelsea tried to convince him to join them in 2007, but Gai rejected the offer. Gai is reportedly stalling over signing the new deal offered to him at Camp Nou. He is good playing with both feet and can play on both wings. Last season he played 24 games for Barca Atletic and scored nine goals. Tottenham, Manchester United and AC Milan are also following Assulin, according to the Spanish football site futbolmercado.

  1. The Sun is a joke. Anyway, I like Gai, but I'm not sure how much we need him. We have a number of young wingers. Maybe Gai can mature and give Pedro and Jeffren a run for their money.

  2. Mido says:

He looks a good prospect but I also dont rate him so highly he will end up as an excellent squad player here or as a super sub but he is never going to be a starter in my opinion hope I am wrong

  3. Well in January they can have him for Cesc even tho Gai's a great talent, maybe for Cesc is worth it…

    • Fenderek says:

Yeah, right- and in 5 years time we will be buying Gai for 40 million…

One thing you guys can be sure about- if Wenger really sees sth in him- he is a GREAT prospect and we should do EVERYTHING to keep him.

Its unlikely that Arsenal would change their stance on Fabregas even if we offer Gai. And I dont think we should let Gai leave… and then buy him back for an enormous amount. Not getting Fabregas is also not the end of the world. Xavi still has a few years left, and by then I am sure JDS and Thiago will be as good if not better than Fabregas. They definitely are great prospects and have the perfect backing to develop into world stars under Pep.
If Barca were to let Gai leave… we should ask for Jack Wilshere and Benik Afobe in exchange. Haha… that would teach them a lesson.

F-Off arsen wenger, you cant steal him because he is over 18. Pep certainly wont allow any team to try and steal our youth. Gai is only 18, he has to be patient, but if he can prove to be a player that likes to take on defenders then he will certainly take pedro's spot. Pedro is a great finisher, but he doesnt take on people which is why he is not great for the LW position and to why we struggled against rubin.

If we gave away players because they aren't great at 18, we would never have had the likes of Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta, Pique and Busquets

    • Word. Although is a little scary with all these talents coming every year, there won't be place for every one of them. Some will have to go, I just hope the ones who stay, will become important team players. For example: We have Thiaggo and JDS who both play in the midfield, and will be very hard for them to get into the team. I really think that loan will do good, but not like the loan of Keirrison.
1 question. Who is the best prospects from the Cameroonians. I watched one of them on youtube, but I can't remember his name, not very tall, but he was very strong.

  6. JBarca says:

Xavi, Iniesta was fantastic at 18. The rest of the list are defensive players who mature later.

  7. In my opinion Gai is already better that Jeffren, he makes less mistakes and is way younger. I think it would be a big mistake to sell Gai and keep Jeffren, it should be other way around.

  8. Yes Gai is a better player, no doubt. While Jeffren is a classic winger, Gai is clearly a guy who can play a left forward, a Ronaldinho type of forward.
