For Valencia’s coach, Unai Emery, Barcelona is the only ‘top’ team in the League that has yet to succumb to him reports Catalan paper Sport.

The Basque coach debuted on the bench of a First Division club with Almeria at the beginning of the 2007-2008 season, and has since imposed his supremacy at least once against teams like Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Sevilla, Valencia and Villarreal.

Emery has so far faced Barcelona on four occasions to Barcelona, two as coach of Almeria’s and two while in charge of Valencia, and his record has been two draws and two defeats with four goals in favour and ten against. Drawing both times when his team has home ground advantage, while suffering defeats at Camp Nou.

One of the biggest rout in his First Division career was when he was with Valencia (4 – 0) last season, against Barcelona.

Emery’s record with the rest of ‘top’ teams is quite impressive with two wins and two defeats against Real Madrid, one win, two draws and two defeats against Atletico Madrid, a win and a defeat against Valencia, four wins and one draw against Sevilla, and a win, two draws and a defeat against Villarreal.
