So many great performances, but Puyol shines through – amazing defensive work today. In general our defense worked fine today, Abidal had some good tackles too.

Iniesta had a fantastic game today.. Ibra , had a sensational start when he came on.. Messi was good , worked very hard , unfortunate not to get a goal and only has himself to blame for missing that sitter towards the end. Our biggest performers on the night , and there were quite a few of them , 1. Puyol , iniesta , messi , alves , Valdes , xavi and ibra… I did feel our defense was in complete disarray at times.. but victory is victory .. and its sweeter cause its against Madrid..

Man, Puyol was friggin solid tonight. Man of the match by a huge margin! Proved himself to be one of the, if not THE, best defenders in the world.
it was one of the few times i have been impressed more by Barca's defence than their strikers…Puyol was brilliant..,even Pique barring a few times came up crucial tackles..

Sergio was the weakest link. I hope Yaya will come back soon, also, I'd like Barca to sign one reliable midfielder during January as well. Messi's ruined chance at the end of the match freaked me out. How did he miss that? What a great chance.

PUYOL… our savior and capitan! This is a vintage Puyol performance.. he always saves us somehow, even in games when the opponents have fewer chances. It's always Puyol who is there as the last man to save a goal. Tonight his performance was even more important because the opponents created more chances than other teams. And thats why its so bleeding obvious he is the man of the match. But this is how Puyol always plays… every week… consistently. A great leader.
Tonight's performance actually inspired me to buy a Puyol jersey next! Visca Barca!
I hope Chygrinksiy learns from Puyol as much as possible based on tonight's performance. That's what makes you a Barca legend.

Has anyone noticed that Abidal has been attacking as much as Alves lately? It might be because he doesn't want to lose his place to Maxwell but with the way Abi has been playing this season, we shouldn't worry.
He almost scored his first goal for us! I hope he one day manages to score for us.

I am a little concerned with Pep's choice for the starting 11. Why did he start Busquets ahead of Yaya for the DMF role for such a big game? Unless Toure had not completely recovered from his swine flu, i dont see any other reason why Busquets would start. Now before you go start bashing me… I do realise Busquets is a great prospect and has a lot of potential… BUT… Yaya Toure is still the one of the best DMF in the world… and certainly the best in that role for Barca. I hope Pep doesnt see Busquets as a first choice ahead of Yaya. The red card was a perfect example of his immaturity. Even though he had a good game…he still has to improve a lot. I just feel that Toure would have done a better job in that role… not to mention that his physical strength and ability to hold the ball is useful when runs forward. I still can't believe Toure was on the bench for such a big game. I hope it was only because he was not fully fit yet.
Try telling that to Keite from the chat. For some reason, he think Busquets is better than Toure and that Keita is the best player we have.
Yeah thats my only complaint about pep… this season he seems to e getting a bit carried away by the " home grown talnt"… Yaya is miles ahead of busquets. Allready there are rumours that yaya may move because he is not getting many starts… Yaya is genuine world class. I just cant understand why pep has been playing busquets.
I always thought that Busquets was starting to keep Toure fresh for the big games (since we have a lot of games to play). And I never bothered to believe the rumors of Toure leaving Barca because he is not getting starts. But now I am starting to worry a bit. Toure is the best DMF in the world. Home grown talent is good… we already have Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Puyol to prove they are the best in the world in their respective positions. If you make a world 11team… those players would be there! BUT… that doesnt meant that every player from the Masia is the next Ballon d Or winner. Busquets is nowhere near that level… Toure pretty much is,.. hence his nomination for Ballon D'OR. If today you were to make a world 11 again… the DMF role would either go to Toure or Mascherano. Thats how good Toure is.. and yet he sits on the bench for the clasico? Its not like Busquets hasnt had the chance to play… he has played a lot of games.. but for this game we should have gone with Toure.
i think it is pep's policy to not start an injured player.. i think thats why toure did not start.
as the season wears on, we are gonna have many important games where toure will start.. he is amazing..
maybe pep wanted to get busquets acclimated to the pressure as he is gonna be the mainstay DM when keita and toure go for african cup.. but busi must have disappointed the bossman.. we do need an experienced DM in the winter window.. as a stop gap arrangement..
1- Puyol (The worlds greatest defender!) Today's performance was legendary..
2- Ibrahimovic (The world's most complete center forward..)
3- Valdes (In my opinion, the world's best goalie, the sheer amount of certain goals Valdes has saved in the last two years is breathtaking. )

Play toure more as DMF
put iniesta in the midfield or allow him to roam about
buy another winger/forward in d winter.
and learn from this classico becos they almost kick our asses,believe me madrid played well u guys can denied that.u r free.
I couldn't agree with you more. I just posted something similar in another article. Toure should be our first choice DMF. I can't believe anyone would even think of picking Busquets ahead of him.
Iniesta plays the best with Xavi in MF. The solution to the LW problem is to buy someone with quality and rotate him with Pedro.
So logically we should buy a player who has qualities that Pedro lacks… that would mean strength and speed. Someone who can run past defenders and score (Ronaldo outpaced Pique and Puyol so many times in the game). Thank god he didnt manage to score or setup someone finally.
Henry was supposed to be that man. But now he seems he can't take on a defender… has become physically weak and certainly doesnt have the pace.
The warning bells are all there to see… Barca may be top of the league and somehow qualifying to the next stage of the champions league… but thats for now. If we don't pay attention to these warnings immediately.. we cud be in trouble later. The January transfer window is crucial.
