Cristiano envious of the Hexacampeon
In an interview he had with Portuguese newspaper ‘Correio da Manha’ regarding his outlook for the new year, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo is already planning on his next move … for May 2010, specifically the 22nd.
“I hope to meet Barcelona in the final of Champions League … and to win it,” declared the player.
“To play in the final in the Santiago Bernabéu, that would be spectacular, both for the players and for the fans. Imagine, the possibility of capturing the title by beating your bitter rival…,” the player added, salivating at the idea.
Cristiano confessed to having a bone to pick with the Catalan side. That is because he was in Sir Alex Ferguson’s defeated Manchester United team this year, and he wants revenge. 2009 is a very bad year for him personally, as he also lost every individual award that recognised him as the best player last year to Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, and the Argentine did it spectacularly, by wide margins each time. That is why, winning the Champions League title alone is not enough, he wants Barcelona’s scalp too – only that can satisfy him.
“I hope to help to Real Madrid win all the competitions that it participates in,” he said, obviously referring to the achievements made by the hexacampeon – Though he’ll have to ask Alcorcon for a rematch for that to happen this season.
An to accomplish all of those desires, the Real Madrid number ‘9’ hope for better luck: “I hope not to have any more injuries, and not just for next year but also for the future.”
“I believe that we are going to improve a lot (from now on).”

BURN IN HELL CRISTINA!
The only silverware you will be touching is the award for the most egotistical and disgraceful loser of a football player on the planet. Keep crying…
Why is the tone of this article so hostile? He's a crybaby, but he's also the second best player in the world. Surely we can all show a bit more sportsmanship than this article?
one correction though… He is NOT the second best player in the world…just like kaka is not the 4th best. For 2009 Xavi and Iniesta were better than both of them. Don't care what Fifa says… but when you have people like Casillas voting for him and kaka as the best.. you wonder how credible that claim was. Now imagine if Puyol was the spanish captain. No way Ronaldo and Kaka gets voted ahead of Messi. Similarly.. most of the people voting for Ronaldo were just voting because of his marketing and brand name unlike Xavi and Iniesta.
For 2009 he was not the 2nd best player in the world… lets not insult Xavi please… 6 trophies.. the midfield genius was the orchestrator all the time.
agree every word..
I knew this reply would come. Yes, he didn't deserve second place in the FIFA awards and Xavi and Iniesta should have made up the podium, I agree with that. I never said anything about Kaka, I think it's quite obvious he's not even in the top 50 at the moment. I also think Xavi and Iniesta had a better year than Ronaldo, but that doesn't mean they are better players. You can hate Ronaldo all you want, and I don't like him either, but it's a simple fact that he's a brilliant player.
If you take every player out of their team and look at them individually, Ronaldo IS the second best in the world. If you take a look at his personal achievements this year, he has shown that as well. Now at Madrid he's a goalscoring machine despite playing in a team that is not yet adapted to each other.
You need trophies to win awards, but I don't need awards and trophies to tell me who the best players are, I can use my own eyes for that.
"If you take every player out of their team and look at them individually, Ronaldo IS the second best in the world"…. i guess that's just your opinion. But IMO i would still say Xavi is a better player, ableit he has other sets of skills from Ronaldo. So the question is what skills do we appreciate more. Ronaldo's skill which is mainly based on pace and powerful kicks IMO is a more abundant skill. While he may be the best at it, I can think of other players with similar characteristics. So it really depends on what you are looking for in a "better" player.
Xavi's type of midfield player is very rare. I cant think of any other player in world football who can do it better. Pirlo was great, but nowhere near Xavi now.
Also, the "goal scoring machine" that he is in Madrid doesn't automatically make him the 2nd best directly. Zlatan also moved clubs… and he has as many or more goals for Barca than Ronaldo…plus so many more assists. That would make Zlatan a better player in fact. And prior to this Zlatan was leading a very mediocre Inter side and constantly their best player and winning the Serie A, while Ronaldo was at a Man Utd with better players. So over time I would say even Zlatan is a better.
I agree Ronaldo is a brilliant player, but i just don't see him as the undisputed 2nd best or best player. If you gave me choice to swap Ronaldo for either Xavi, Messi, Zlatan today(in those positions), i wouldn't take it. Not because I hate Ronaldo but because i genuinely dont think he is better than any of those players. anyways.. thats just my opinion, everyone is entitled to their own.
Because the original article is JRR @ http://www.sport.es/default.asp?idpublicacio_PK=4... I just reconstruct to shorten the story to fit it here.
i seriously love the tone of the article
+1 =D
Ronaldo better know wat hes saying. Just because he says he wants to beat Barcelona doesnt mean he can. And I dont think that revenge hes talking about is coming, because if wants revnenge against Barca for the last CL, he has to do it with United, not with Madrid. Two different places here, why doesnt he understand that? Personally, i feel he was way better at United despite being a total show off and being highly overrated for talent which is comparable to a lot of other players. Iniesta and Kaka IMO is way better than him. Furthermore, I have faith that Barca even this season will prove that the new Madrid is nothing compared to the Best Team in the world right now!
Let em come!
