Catalan sports paper Sport reports that several European top clubs, including Barcelona, would be interested in Anderlecht forward and Belgian youth international Romelu Lukaku (16). His contract with his current club Anderlecht ends in the year 2012, but several top clubs from English Premier League, Serie A and Spanish La Liga would be ready to make offers for the young striker.

Despite being only 16 years old, Romelu Lukaku is already 192 cm tall, and he has been compared to Chelsea forward and Ivorian international Didier Drogba. Although Romelu Lukaku has attracted lots of interest from other clubs, his father Robert Lukaku, a former professional footballer, denied any transfer rumours to British newspaper Daily Mail: “Other teams can make as much offers as they want. My son is going to finish his studying first, which takes at least another 18 months.”
