Barcelona do not have enough funds for Robinho or Mascherano
After being heavily linked with EPL duo Robinho and Javier Mascherano, ESPN soccernet reports that Barcelona have insufficient funds to buy any of the two, a fact that makes a loan move for Robinho much more likely. Barcelona’s lack of finances comes after spending this summer 66 million euro’s on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, including Samuel Eto’o. Robinho wants a transfer to Barcelona, who wants to loan him as they cannot afford him, and there are no guarantees of a future move. A source close to the club is supposed to have said that Barcelona have made it clear that they want him on loan:
“Barcelona have made it clear they are talking about a loan deal only and it is hard to believe that will happen. Barcelona were, at one time, very interested in Mascherano, but no longer. At one stage I would have said ‘yes’ that a deal could happen, but now I would have to say ‘no’. I would say that Barcelona do not have the sort of funds to buy either Robinho or Mascherano.”
Manchester City coach Mark Hughes have commented on the rumor, but has denied that Robinho will leave Manchester City: “I am quite clear and Robinho should be quite clear that his future is very much with City. There is no reason to think that will change any time soon. All those stories do not originate from anyone from City.”
It's a little strange that Barca's funds are insufficient after winning all these trophies last season + new sponsorships deals. But doesn't matter, Barca only need to find the way to cover midfield during January. Maybe better this way, next summer they'll get Cesc and Suarez and the problem solved.

This is not true. Might be true that Barca cant afford them with the money they have right now, but they could always take loans.
But I hope that neither of those 2 players will join Barca.
We have Pedro who has been great so far and if Robiniho joined Pedro wouldnt get as much play time I susspect.
Macherano…has been pretty bad lately. And we already have Toure, best DM in the world imo and Bousquets as a sub.
We dont need either of them.
We need someone like Fabregas so that we dont lose quality in our game when Xavi or Iniesta are injured/need rest.
Keita has had a few good games this seasson but you cant help but notice how our middfield suffers when Xavi/Iniesta arent playing.

THANK GOD… But i dont know why but i feel these rumours are just to throw everyone off and that Robinho actually will come in JAN.. Really dont want him.. There is a chance hel play great if hes in our squad but thats a big gamble.. Suarez in the summer would be a PERFECT replacement for henry..

It looks to me that Man City wants to get rid of Robinho and not just loan him while Barca has other options in the summer for LW and need someone just for second part of the season. Robinho on loan is not bad idea but to buy him would be a mistake in my opinion. If only Gai was little older…
I would much prefer sticking with Pedro and Henry on the left for now and getting Suarez in the summer (along with Cesc). No Robinho, no Masch.
